Experimenting with Air!

We had tons of fun creating our own experiments with air. We talked about the cycle of inquiry and experienced it to the fullest while uncovering the mystery of the invisible thing we walk through all day.  Students used straws, feathers, cotton balls, balloons, great communication, and their curiosity to guide their learning.

Here are some of our big ideas and photos that capture a bit of our investigation.

Air is invisible. You can feel it.    -Derek

Air is everywhere you go.  -Shylah

Air is always with you when you go to Maine or anywhere.   -Brayden

When you take air out of a cup it won't come out. It will fill back up as you take it out.  -Nolyn

You can see air in the winter when you breathe.   -Leeanna

Air comes from wind. When you're in the car and roll down the window air comes through. -Alexis

Air blows the leaves when they fall, in fall. -Lorelai

Nice work, Nolyn!

Really going for it!  Safety goggles are firmly in place!

Smiling in anticipation!    ....What happens next?

You'll have to ask Nolyn to find out.
